SPRAY DRYING involves the atomization of a liquid feedstock which can be either an aqueous or solvent based solution, suspension or emulsion into individual droplets, which are sprayed into hot air or inert gas promoting evaporation of the droplet volatiles. The resulting drying process creates dry particles which are subsequently collected as a powder.
The Spray Drying operation consists of:
Liquid Atomization and Droplet Formation
Spray Droplet Mixing with Hot Air or Inert Gas
Droplet Volatiles Evaporation
Particle Drying
Particle (Powder) Recovery
Powder After-Treatment,
Product Collection and Packaging
